Hi mate,Me and a few mates were among the first that went out with him when he first started taken trips out from east tarbet but that was a very long time ago when the fish were about, we all caught conger I remember I had a 17lb one a pb for me.
One of my mates calls in to see him now and then for a chat he seems like a good bloke, he kept our fish in his freezer for us untill we headed back home.
Oh my mate said he has two boats now.
    Good luck with your trip.

myself and a few friends have had 2 weekend trips out with ians son mathew the last couple of years. not long back actually, had a weekend with him in july. mathew is a star and if your out with him you'll have a great day, his dad is a nice fella aswell. we had tope with them last year but unfortunately none this year but thats fishin. we did get 3 runs tho unfortunately no hook ups. we did manage 6 bull huss from about 8 to 15lb ish don't worry if the tope don't play tho as the pollack fishin will blow you away float fishin sandeel or mack strip will produce a fish a drop but we found that freelining a big sandeel produced the better fish, we had them upto 6/7 lb and lost much bigger fish (the ones you lose are all monsters tho eh) for the pollack we all use an 8/9 ft spinning rod and 12/15lb mono and its awesome fun. it will be worth ya while taking a few large rag as well as these also work very well.
                  where you stayin?
if you want any more info just pm me
