Fair one if you don't agree and active discussion is what a forum is about, all open as everyone knows who everyone is with a name and face.

The enjoyment I get out of posting/reading catch reports and having a good crack over Boat angling, boats, shore angling and Game on here is great and only spoiled by people like the aforementioned.

Don't let tits like that put you off posting Colin! I wouldn't! See you for the start of the winter league mate, 6 metre swells and engines blowing up permitting!

    Graham.

Very well said mate. Besides the point pollock are certainly not in short supply, and as many of us know many chip shops are changing and using pollock to save our famous cod.

Catching that many fish a session certainly ain't a massacre if he ain't keeping many, and besides that sounds like a very good session to catch that many, the lucky bugger

Also 'ivatoofmissing', I would like to highlight the fact HE WAS NOT COMMERCIAL FISHING!! If your a decent angler you would know that trolling DOES involve a rod and reel, so I think you should get your facts straight before you come on here shoutin and balling and complaining about the guys good catch...

Back in the 'real world' here, well done on your good catch amblecol, plenty nice fish there and its good sport non the less what anybody says.

Well Mr Ivatoof missing, it's took me 4 years of trial and error to be able to troll three hooks for pollack and find the places they are, try yourself see if you can get any - highly unlikely. I don't keep a secret about how I fish for them,as I've shown Micky and Graham and last month Loopyles from this site came out with me, we caught one 8 or 9lb and returned it. I always work on the premise of if the fish isn't to be eaten it goes back, I don't think I could eat 36 fish.Pollack are definately not the only fish I catch, if I had said 36 cod, as many do, would that be a massacre? I fish to the conditions - clean water, calm sea and big tides dictated pollack on that day and to be criticised by someone with no avatar and no name smacks of envy.
As for fishing commercialy (in a 16ft open boat and 8hp engine) I have a full time job and fish when I can like most people on here, I fish for pleasure, if you had a boat you'd know you can't make money with a rod and line. Commercials rarely land pollack because of the price. As for fishing them out, do you think I'd sh@t in my own nest, theres just as many as there has been since I started. I have friends in the fishing fleet here and it's good to have them, if I want readings for any marks it just takes a call and I've got them. It's taken years of learning from other boat owners, skippers and anglers to be able to have a chance of being in the right place at the right time, so I'll put your criticism down to sheer ignorance.
Thanks lads for your posts of support - appreciated

Well Mr Ivatoof or two missing has nothing to say,no big surprise he has a very low post count, never mind he wont be missed.

Forgot to say - yes I use a paravane, lots of shops sell them. I got the idea from anglers who use them on the lochs in scotland for ferox trout.By trying new methods this is what pushes angling forward, who used shads a few years ago? not me, I pm'd a lad on this site to find out how and he gladly gave info. This is what good anglers do.
My best friend is a commercial (or commersial to you) skipper of a potter, thats lobster pots not fish, he's a bloody good angler too, he would love you to take up the point with him. I've only posted my better catches this year but theres many a time I'm lucky not to blank, even fishing for dabs in warkworth bay, but don't think they would make good reading.
Thanks again for the words from real anglers....Col

You have a valid point there matey.
Anyone who massacres two fish per session deserves all the abuse you can throw at them.

Should be ok though didn't see any CCTV and police haven't been yet.

That is the only part of your post reply to Colin that holds any credence. I know that by replying to your ridiculous statement I have sunk to your level, but, hey sometimes. Colin is a true sportsman he is not a great lover of dropping rippers over the side. He and I went out the other day with very light tackle, coarse rods and 6lb line for flounders and plaice for sport oh and the 8lb Pollock that went back alive caught in 20" of water. Collins method takes skill, some maths and if you get it wrong some expensive tackle loss. An apology always goes down well, but it takes a big man to make one ivatoofmissing .
