    me and me mate stu had a boat booked since april with dougy at tynuilt boating club at etive scotland £55 for the day 8.30am till 5pm . we left tuesday afternoon to get there for first thing wednesday morning a 8.30am start , we tryed a couple hours fishing on a boat ramp where we was parked up for the night also having a few beers and a BBQ fishing was poor and midgies was in full force attacking us so we lit a fire which seemed to work kept them away . next morning up bright and early for the boat we met dougy which kindly lent stu a boat reel and rod , fired her up and motored on we went searching around the loch for the fish first was the spurdogs first for me and stu ,we moved again to the other side and tied off some bouys resulting in more dogs and dogfish at this time it had been constent rain from the off had to bail out loads of water other wise we might of sunk we plodded on looking for marks whilst dripping wet wasnt till the last hour before having to head back to the moorings we found a ideal spot producing ray ,red codling ,dogfish and whiting and spurs wished we had hit this mark earlier has it was shallower and very close in stu had his first ever thornback ray estimating around 4-5lb ,that was it for our boat session we headed in and thanked dougy for hes boat hire after boat trip went oban to fill tank up get some thing to eat of to shore try bit spinning for pollock by this time rain had stop and sun come out well fish for 3 hours with out fish for stu and one macky for me so called night went back to car for so sleep and see what weather like in moing but doug had told wasnt looking any better and he was right it was p!ssing down and wind got strong so head home at 7.00 in moing get back to sunderland for 12.00

    well done on your catches,shame the weather put a bit of a dampener on your trip! still looks like yous had a canny time though

      shame about the weather but at least yous didnt blank nice to see different reports like this 1 best luck on your next trip love it up there the views are stunning.

        im sorry lads we wasnt pulling big double figure cod in like our relatives in the northeast of england but sommit different sommit new and new species is a bonus trip in my eyes enjoy the summer while it lasts roll on winter

        theres no skill in boat fishing LOL boat angling is easy pickings

          It looks like winter up there lads. thats the trouble with the west of Scotland, once it starts raining it doesn't seem to stop, untill the wind comes from the east, then if there's no wind, the dam midges attack, but once the sun's out, there's nowhere better. Well done on your efforts, at least next time you go, you'll have a good idea where to start, and keep to the shallows. Great report and pics.

            ive used douggies boats before hes spot on its a miserable place when its misty and wet(where isnt,well done on your catch and report
