  • LATE REPORT !!! Warlord 3 july 2011

Well set sail at half 8 owt the piers to a very lazy swell heading north was the plan so thats what we did to a few wrecks once we staemed to craster we got to our 1st drift which produced a few small codling tide was running very hard so we headed out to some bigger wrecks

Fishing was tough with only the odd fish coming over the rail this continued for the rest of the day untill the tide slowed up abit
Half 2 came with few fish onboard we headed back to a wreck we already tried and bang straight into fish weighing up to 8.5lb with mackerel being a pain to get through james went to the front of the boat due to many tangles among the boat and he managed a ling to 11lb which won him the sweep
Next it was my turn into something a little bigger after hauling it up i boated a 7lb cod which is a ne PERSONAL BEST for me

I ended the day with over 30 mackerel and 4 decent cod and a new PB
Always a good day out with jeff even if the fishing is poor
Also ended up with a canny tan lol

The mackerel are suicidal just now , I don't know how they mnage it , but I had some on sunday on a pirk , they had every point of a 6/0 treble inside their mouths , how the hell they manage to do it is beyond me , I know the hooks don't come back out in a hurry

Well done on your pb. , it's a nice size pb that , a decent size fish but not impossible to better

The 7lb cod was great really lifted my spirits but what really made my day was dolphins swimming infront of the boat about a mile from the piers on the way back in we all videod them really really spectacular
