  • Stingray 1/7/11 short but sweet sesh

Finished work at 6.30am so decided on a couple of hours close in, met Graham and we headed off for abit of fishing.

Sea was very clean today from from Middens all the way out but the sea did have a NE roll on it

We hit 5 wrecs and took fish off all of them a grand total in a couple of hours fishing of 29 codling and 1 ling along with mackerel and coalie, best cod 8lb, only ling about a shoe string

Nice few hours out but tired now. Kept two cod rearing for a long sesh in 8hrs time

So short report but good few hours fishing, cod all over between 3lb-5lb at the moment.

The water clarity was excellent yesterday as well, plenty fish about still, great to see the fish coming up from the depths. Have you not got a filleting board Richy, that knife could do some deck damage mate.

YES Jester there is a filleting board but when I'm filleting (My Way!) I never cut straight through the fish. The blade of my knife has NEVER come in contact with any part of the boat, it only makes contact with the fish. I'm sure Richy will welcome your concern and I'm more than certain Richy would of kindly and politely had a word or two in my ear.

BIG thank you to Richy (Northeast's No1) for yet another Lovely Day Out on the pond CHEER'S Richy. Until the next time.

I fillet as seen in the photo so that the blood and gunk runs into the drainage channel. No need for any apology Jester. As for the big blue thing guess who knocked that up? Which I do use when filleting and chopping up mackerel.

No probs Sid , on looking at the pic i see what you mean about the blood and gunk, i thought you might have been using the channel to stop the fish sliding about as well....That chopping board matches your top as well...
