    Late report!!
First trip out on sunday just for a couple of hours with family, just fished on the hard ground off hendon, first drop with a borrowed pirk (thanks Chris) christened the boat with a nice codling, then spent 2 hours unhooking mackeral for daughter and wife!! Boat now covered in macky scales and blood!!
Had another couple of hours out monday lunch time, stuck to shads to avoid macks, had 2 coddy about 5lb and dropped 3 off on way up!!
Not great sessions but very happy to have tried her out and found a couple of fish!!
Just need to work out how get over these wrecks now!!
Have attached a pic of the first fish aboard for posterity, not big but worth celebrating (thats what the wife said anyway!!)

    Nice cod matey well done

You will be finding mackerel sacles forever more now , they are like dandruff or snow in one of those shakers Hope you have many more happy days out, as for the wrecks , read Normans article on how to fish them and you won't go far wrong

Well done Dave , great to hear you have christened the boat and the family are fishing as well. I was down Sunday and there was quite a crowd around the boat, most likely admiring the pirk i gave you ...Now you've caught a fish on it, i'll have it back.....

not sure what plotter you got for wreks but last boat i had it had a navman and finding wreks was easy you just headed to them and zumed in wen got closer to them great piece of kit you can see all wreks on screen before setting off.can buy different cards to go in them for all parts of britain.the ones where you put the numbers in now are long gone its really easy .

I was only kidding about the pirk Dave , if you managed to still have it after fishing the rough ground it would have been a miracle . I'm out tonight for a short session hopefully. Have fun mate, i'll catch up with you down the marina sometime

Hi codcrazy, welcome to the catch report section. Its great to get the family out and catching, especially the kids. When you do get over the wrecks, it can be good, or frustrating, setting the drift up and watching the wreck appearing on the sounder, or not quite hitting it , catching or not catching, but all a learning curve that gets better and better. Good luck with it all.
