My week off this week so thought i'd get out wrecking for around 8.00, Kingcod Deano and Falcone were already on the wreck when i arrived and had a few fish.
First drop i had a codling on a shad, about 3lb so i returned it, then over an hour went by without a bite. I took a pollock around 6lb off the wreck later, but the drift was horrendous, so i tried another 4 wrecks closer in taking a couple of fish off each.
I only kept 4 fish as i'm after the elusive double, and the freezer is well stocked.

The wind and tide spoiled it today, but who can complain with the fishing we have had....maybe i'm getting spoilt...

Sorry no pics, nothing much to photograph

Hi Chris, nice pollock though. It was hard work today, I was off around the 3mile mark trying 2-3 wrecks but only managed a couple of cod to about 3lb and 20+ mackerel. The water seemed a bit cloudy as well after Sunday's sea. That easterly breeze and the fast tide didn't help. The rest of the week doesn't look any better with northerly's by Thursday. Might be better going back to work this week, and take next week off instead

The double will come Chris , don't ask me how to catch one though , I think it's a case of putting in the hours and eventually one turns up
I used to spend my entire life searching for double figure pike , never had much success till I gave up trying and just fished for "pike" , they came along like yellow buses after that
