I left Royal Quays about 7ish full of anticipation and picked the guy's up from the Mill Dam. When we got through the piers it was immediately apparent that the wind strength and direction would test our resolve.
Anyway, we headed North to drift the ground off Cambois and when we arrived we had several fish on board within less than 5 minutes. The wind was freshening all the time and we deployed the drogue to slow the drift which was a tad quick given that it was wind and tide together.
The sea state turned very lumpy, we got thrown about and one of the guy's took a tumble which left him in a lot of pain. We sent him below because he just getting in the way and his constant moaning was getting on our nerves. We kept about 50 Cod which were all just lip hooked from chasing the bait and we threw at least as many back. The guy below was still moaning and looked in poor shape so we had a vote which was not unanimous to reluctantly cut short our trip and head for home.
A great day despite the weather and oh yes the moaner (turns out it wasn't really much, he's just broken two ribs the wuzz).
