Thought i'd drop another report before i head off to graft.
Headed out at 5:00am again, same tactics, to beat the wind due to blow at dinner time.
3 rods on board this time with the other lads sick as parrots in case they missed owt.
AND they did.
forecast was spot on again with very little wind and a very slight sea on, got out to the wreck within 55minutes and same crack as previous, get a fish on the deck by 6 o'clock.
Stu, obliged fish on and gaff ready, 12-11oz within minutes and bang on 6. the other 2 lads were straight into fish at the same time, so it looked like another session.
We took fish after fish just up the side of the wreck and the drift let us get 2 or 3 drops before having to go around again.
We had 2 drifts when all 4 of us landed doubles, totalling 15 doubles in all.
(+/- oz's ) 3 x 10, 3 x 11, 4 x 12, 3 x 13, 1x 14 and the daddy weighed in at bang on 15 lb.
92 fish in total.
All fish were taken on, pearl & rhubabr/custard, shads and sidewinders with 1 ling fished for with makerel on a leadhead, weigh in at 9lb.
Slack water and the fish catch rate dropped off, with the fish were in the boxes we headed off another 5 mile to try another wreck and have a sarny and cuppa.
That didn't do much with only 3 x 4-5lbrs
By then it was starting to blow from the south, as forecasted and the sea lifted to an uncomfortable choppy swell, so we headed in at 12:30.
Another great day and some quality fish, still to get the +20lb cod on the boat and I thought today was the day, but never mind next time.
thats it for me for a few weeks, (sick as a parrot)
So happy fishing lads, leave some for when I get back.
Paul
