  • Boy Owen catch report 21/05/2011

Well after all the modifications past winter it was finally time to try her out before we rename her. Left South shields at 6:30 and as this was a different engine on the boat we decided to just go no more than a mile out and within sight of the peirs. What a cracking day. In the space of 3 hours, the 3 of us caught....
    • 56 Mackeral
    • 6 Herring
    • 1 Pollock
    • 34 Cod

It took us longer to gut and clean the fish than it did catching them!

All in all a brill days fishing and the boat ran like a dream. Win Win!

That’s a good haul and great start to your season; the other boats out of the Tyne today must have steamed straight over the fish. I’ve seen Boy Owen afloat, and on a trailer heading through the tunnel before, what’s the new name going to be, and is it changing colour?

the colour is staying but as this is now our boat we decided to call it Crewless as I think is sums us all up.

Good name It takes a lot of thought before finally deciding on the right one, I bet there's some good stories behind where people’s boat names came from.

Your gonna need an industrial roll of cling film if you carry on like that, it's only the start of the season. Great result lads
