sailed at 7am with 8 anglers on board--stevie on the net and jim at the helm
once clear of the "bar" the sea was flat with a bit of a ripple but nil swell this situation was only going to improve as the day went on,with an oily sea on the way home--anyhoo enough of the cruise report
the last of the ebb and slack water seemed to last for ever with an odd ling and pollock coming on board.
i was bored so decided to stick on a mackarel trace and a 6oz weight to so a bit of whitey bashing(there were some decent ones about)
yes you have guessed it a lively take and some very cautious reeling in resulted in a 12lb ling in the box
we moved off a little bit and eventually the flood arrived and things livened up a canny bit, good few double figure ling 4 or 5 pollock best 7 plus not many cod on the day but the best one was 15lb plus
stopped at a couple of marks on the way home, where the LING KING did the business boating a 18 plus ling well chuffed
baits today mackarel(plenty still about) and squid.
daylights rippers and hokkis all took fish as did flowing traces.
water still clear too.
well done to the lads from barrow who had a two and half hour drive, and made a more than fair contribution to the days events
roll on sunday cheers jim and steve fro the king of the ling--for today at least
