A quick report since there was not a great deal to write about. Out at 7 am and across to Boulmer once more. Wind wasn't pleasant to say the least and made for an uncomfortable day although the sea was flatish. We persevered but only came up with 3 Cod, a decent one escaped, Coley and Mackerel. We did catch a Herring on the hook, that's 2 this season, the other coughed up by a Cod.
There was a very brief period when the wind fell silent, only for 5 mins and that's when we suddenly caught the Cod - coincidence ? I'm not a big believer in it. I think some Cod are still lurking maybe the ones that stay all winter.
We eventually headed back to Amble and as the wind fell away it became a very pleasant day, we then had a bit fish behind the island but not a bite.
Headed back in about 16:30. It was a very bleak day for the charter boats by all accounts they had fished farther out and up Craster way but virtually no Cod so our own efforts weren't too bad.
Took some pics of the entrance to Boulmer haven at very low water, it appears navigable at the lowest tide, not much water left inside the haven but it's always nice to know!
