So here is part 2 of the summary of our boat fishing holiday in the North East.
The second week started in all too familiar fashion, with our next charter aboard Predator cancelled due to a damaged prop, you couldn't make this stuff up! When would this bad luck change!?
It changed with our re-arranged JFK2 trip actually happening on the Wednesday and one only one my friends, David, able to come from Scotland, down from the three who had booked the previous week.
We sailed at 0730 into an all too well known breeze and swell.
What with my friend David never getting seasick and him being seasick for the 4th time in a row, I didn't get a lot of time to take photos! However I did have time to spank both his and Lynn's ass and go into an unbeatable 2-1 lead!
It was great to meet up with Chris again and also John for the first time.
So it came down to our trip out with Big Sean and his partner Lisa out of Hartlepool on the the Sunday - our last full day in the North East. Unfortunately it was Lynn's day - and Lisa's.
Sean and myself were left defeated! However Sean was a star and found us the fish late in the day when the weather abated.
So the result - We caught Coalfish, Cod, Dogfish, Ling, Mackerel, Pollock, Pouting, Whiting and Wolfish. We didn't really count and we failed to weigh anything, but here is scores on the doors.
Keepers:
Coalfish - A few each, no real size.
Cod - 20 plus each with Lynn and myself claiming the best to 7lbs.
Dogfish - 1 for Lynn to 1lb.
Ling -1 for me, 2 for Lynn, the best to her for maybe 8lbs.
Mackerel - Only about 6, no real size.
Pollock - 2 for myself to 5.5lbs.
Pouting - A couple each to 1lb.
Whiting - A fair few each to 1.5lbs.
Wolfish - 1 for myself to 2lbs.
So quite clearly, no matter what Lynn claims, I was the top angler of the week!
We had a brilliant time and while the weather did its best to defeat us, Stephen, Norman and Sean rescued our holiday with their kindness in taking us out on their boats.
Thank you so much guys, you know how much we appreciate your generosity.
Lynn insisted I post a few photos of her when she is not fishing!
Oh and here is one of me!
We loved our time in the North East and will be back next year for sure. Thank you to all who made our holiday so enjoyable.
Mark/Lynn
PS What we did with them.
