Today seen us take a couple of friends who ain't done much North Sea fishing aswell as the normal crew!

Which also meant a new skipper at the helm.

With our guests not fancying the early start, I decide on a 530am meet up, 6am out the piers.

At the first stop it I heard ave got one ave got one a thought nah not that quick . sure enough I turned round there's Cameron's rod bent double nice one young man.

After picking up half a dozen fish we moved off a bit meeting up with the usual suspects. Only to find out that we had missed the party. 😥

So after a bit of humming and haring we had our sights set on the next wreck. After a 20 minute steam thanks Cameron for the break. 👍

It wasn't long till we were picking the odd fish up again cod up to 4lb.

Cameron managed his first ever mackerel not long after, I was told that's for smudger's breakfast

The fishing was certainly slower than it has been of recent weeks. The Early Early bird got the worm this week. However we picked away ending up with 40 cod between 6 of us.

We thought we had hit the jackpot after aquireing some numbers off a friend and all six of us straight into fish. I thought this is it but it just didn't produce the consistency of fish after a few drifts.

What a cracking day with good company. We reflected on the day with a couple of the lads from SSBAC in the sun with a nice cold one ( cheers dad)

Ps well done on the win dad on your first trip of the year.

        Superb Stephen
..... Talking of young guys, do a search for tadpole fish (in the NESA search) it takes you back to 2005 while Bert is still awaiting his record confirmation ..... But look at the picture a post or two down of Bert holding the tadpole fish ... Who's that young boy behind and to the right of him lol.
