Woke up to a very calm morning, so decided to have a run off to a few wrecks of the Tyne. The first one at 3miles. Dropped a shad down, and with 3 lifts of the rod, was into a fish about 3 and a half pound.

Got a couple more a bit smaller that went back, so moved on to the next wreck.
Couldn't tice one out on a shad, so a two hook flapper went on with bait, and quickly was into what i thought was a better fish, alas not, a fish of 3lb on each hook.
Put a bait down again, and this time, hardly noticed the bite, other than the rod tip slowly pulling over just like a fast hold, but then it kicked realising it was hooked, pulling and kicking and taking line. Turned out to be a ling.

A few more fish followed, nothing very big, but nice pan size. Kept a dozen in all.

Soon it was lunch time and grandparent duties, so time to go in.
When you get conditions like that, (very rare for all day) you don't want to go in

Well done Arthur, that looks to have been a lovely day afloat. It may have been a hardship going in early, but it was a lot better than not getting out.
