  • Sunday off Whitburn

Set off from Cullercoats with Family on board to watch airshow, but after a wait for the display to get started, the grand bairns wanted to go fishing. I had only brought a short light rod with a 40gm mackerel lure and 3 feathers above as there was 6 people aboard. Went to the round end of Roker pier and dropped straight into 4 mackerel to the grand bairns delight as they thrashed on the floor of the boat. The westerly breeze was quite strong at times, so was drifting quite fast. Didn't catch anymore so headed close in at the north end of Whitburn into 20ft of water where the kids had great fun pulling in small coalies 2-3 at a time, and enjoying putting them back to watch them swim away.
after the red arrows finale, headed back home and checked the fuel tank to find about a pint of fuel left from £30. of petrol. A good day out by all. Few pics. Sorry about quality of pics, the only way I could upload them was by taking a picture with my old camera straight from my computer screen of the origonal pics, something to do with jpegs which I don't understand.

You can borrow my little one Chris.. although at 11 months old I don't think he's too interested in fishing just yet

Yes Chris, they enjoyed the fishing the best. Still trying to upload the pics, straight from my computer, but keeps saying upload failed. Will keep trying, as the smiles on their faces says it all
