  • north star 21 june

the alarm went off at 04=15 am,and after saturdays antics the body didnt feel too good, however the mind was willing,so- up and at em!!!

we sailed at 06-30,at the request of the main party, led by a crazy guy called DUSTY BIN

north we went (goverened by the forecast, and in the final part of the day were we glad!!!(good move jim)

suppose i had better mention fish much slower than sat.(expected) dirty water fast drift at some points 2.5 knotts

tried a wreck with no luck, then moved closer in for some shelter wind still gusting.

tryed one of the crazy guys rippers, thank goodness i caught nowt on it

prawn seemed to be the bait of the day,i didnt have anyand nobody said dog have you got a mouth

i persevered with my KELLYS MACKAREL FLIES tipped with squid, and ended up with 4 nice keepers.

so a quieter day to end the weekend, good company and some fish for everyone(the other lads did better than me,but i shall be back

Never two days a like but at least you got away from the dreaded rippers this time
I always take some prawns for the North Star based on previous experience…but they seem to do little from shore

Was having another shocker sunday Liam, never had any prawns, managed to tap a couple off Chris (dustybin), dropped down and bam straight into a cod.

Yes was a very good day even considering the winds we were going to get from 10am. We set off 6.30am to get some fishing done before the winds got up as forecast. We were catching fish steady pace sometimes doubles. The fish were getting caught on cod feathers with prawns. I sneeked a few prawns out for Stevie as he had no luck with squid, but as soon as he hit the bottom bang cod on. Are you making Rippers Duncan for your next trip. I hope you have got prawns this Sunday Stevie, but be aware there is a full squad of us this Sunday. Thoroughly enjoyed It. Thanks Again Jim (Northstar)

Remember the same thing happening with me on one of my first trips with Jim - his Mrs tossed me a few prawns over and happy days.
