  • north star 20th june

after a personal disaster left bait in house

scrounged a couple of squid of steve the crewman-as it turned out never needed them

so!!!!, half a dozen rods on boat, and orf we went first stop for mackeral, and plenty of them, and of decent size!!!!

then a bit of a longer travel to the chosen ground, where the "north star was going to shine in the east"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

theres a big lad goes out fishing on jims boat(soap dodger) on here all he uses is "dusty bin" rippers worked hard!

well i thought if he can i can im only 40year older than him

10 mins of hard graft and yip a fish, and so it went on for the rest of the day for me,fish between 3lb and 9lb-mainly 4/5 though, fish lost fish put back too.

other rods didnt go without either, probably averaging a dozen fish each, and as many mackarel as you could wish for.

by the end of the day a few had changed tactics to rippers too, also shads accounted for a few fish in the clear water

thanks to phil for collecting in my winnings

if carlsberg did fishing days this would be one of them cheers jim for the trip

aye rob pic would gave been nice, but i was knackered after the days escapades, and jim was pretty kaput too having done a nightshift on fri.and spending most of the day netting

had it been a decent pollock may have been a different story
