A swell couple of hours ...

Well as planed we managed to set out tonight for a few hours. One crewmember down certainly increased the speed of the boat but I think for once we could have done with his ballast!

First drop was on a wreck just out of the Tyne and we were straight in to coalies and small codling; however the swell and the approaching ferry drove us further afield.

With a drift of about 1.5mph and a healthy swell fishing remained optimistic rather than fruitful. Each site we tried was similar with a few mackerel, loads of coalies and whiting and a regular stream of small codling.

For the second week running Richie had the pick of the fish with two nice cod taken on daylights topped with rag.

Due to the increasing swell and the increasing green tinge to Richies face we called it a night at 7.30 . Good couple of hours but not the most comfortable session ever.
