I recently promised to take out my oldest son and his two mates so today was the day.
I took "Grace" up to the rough ground off Sandy Bay caravan site and set her on a long drift up to the Church Point. None of the lads had boat fished before so it was a debacle and I spent most of the day untying raffles and replacing daylites/sinkers.
On the upside there was plenty of good fish around so the boys landed around 20 decent cod to 6lb and threw back dozens of coalies etc. It maybe prudent to mention that we only fished with bare daylites as we were initially looking for mackerel (only got four) so the cod are still hanging around the ground.
I'm out on Saturday and I'm inclined to go back to the same ground again.
