  • Calisto 29/6/10 Evening session

Those 12mph northerly winds which were forecast on the met office didnt materialise so at 3pm i decided to have a little look out for a couple of hours.
Managed 6 codling, biggest 8lb rest of them were 2.5-3lb , 2 pollack at 2lb and a dozen or so mackerel.
was a lovely evening not a breath of wind and the sea was flat calm, was lovely and warm.
Best thing is i used next to no fuel, never had to go far to get them, biggest fish were taken on the shads, i then switched over to the pink hokkais and took a mixed bag.

excellent report, I remember it were not long ago that 6 cod to 8lbd would have been a corker all day distance catch .. but now its a quick run out the piers rock on ...

It was a cracking evening with the sea going from calm to even calmer. I took the two little-un's out for a while tonight and ended up staying a until just before dark. They caught small ling and codling to three pounds off a couple of wrecks but no sign of the mackeral that were so numerous on Sunday.
Even the drift was kind to us, we fished one wreck for about half an hour and only moved 20 yards.
