Full of anticipation I set off at 10.30 this morning intending to launch off the big beach at Shields and get myself in position at about a mile out. However when I arrived I noticed the Lifegaurds flags were flying horizontal and the wind seemed to be blowing a bit strong for comfort. So rather than waste the sunny day altogether I allowed myself once again to be confined to the harbour.

Once in the relative calm of the pier walls I set about trying to catch a myself a decent meal. Unfortunately all I did catch were three meager little fish finger sized tiddlers.

Never mind, it was great to be out, and there is always next time.
