  • Sunday 7th June. Ali-cat Hartlepool

Sorry late post, work commitments getting in the way.(condensed report)
On a glorious morning but a little blustery, which did little to hamper the fishing, we waited our turn to enter the lock with other Charters before we set off from the marina chasing Famous who had left from the lock before us.
A nice shortish steam took us to our first marks and down went the gear, a mixture of shads, muppets, bait, flowing traces and heavy metal went overboard.
On the last trip out, Friday gone, fishing had started from the off, today a slightly slower start than the last few trips.
So the fish began to show themselves in 5s and 6s per drift, with the weight average steadily improving trip by trip, lots reaching 6ish.
Ling also showing with 3 of the best over the 10lb mark.
Slight disappointment for 1 of the lads whose Cod was only 4ozs shy of the magical 10lb, but best on the boat.
Again no body left without fish, cod being the main of the catch in the region 90+ fish.
Some really big Mackerel coming onboard, not huge amounts but they are getting more each trip
Sorry no photos today, forgot to bring it. (Camera)
