Bit of a delayed report here but never mind...

Launched from the Amble Boat Club slipway (probably going to become a member) on friday at 12.30 - never launched there before either.

Got out past the piers and headed out just north of the Island and drifted south for a bit - no fish, weather wasn't too bad but there was a fair roll on (which resulted in Matt being violently sea sick for the majority of the day - credit to him mind as he didn't once complain and just got on with it despite refusing offers from me to take him back).

So, no fish then motored slightly south to the back of the Island on a mark I believe is called the 'Coquet hole' - still no fish.

Then went down about roughly a mile off hauxley - couldn't believe how shallow the water is out there even that far out - still no fish.

Was starting to get a bit impatient so decided to motor down to Cresswell as i'd heard there were a few fish from that area, fished an hour or so down there with nothing, then at about 4.30 ish the fishing started and we landed probably around 20 in total which included 5 dabs! only 6 keepable cod but was just relieved not to have blanked.

All fish taken on hokkis/daylights baited with rag. Headed back at 8pm.

All in all not a bad day....heres a few pics

Well done Dave, persistence as ever does pay off ....... I think thats why we all like it so much year on year as it never becomes a given right to catch fish. No matter how hard you try to repeat the process, same dates , same tides , same spots etc etc its still a case of wait wait and eventually (although not always) your turn will come ....

Nice report mate and great pictures

Well done Dave and crew. excellent report and pics, and well done Mat for your endurance. It will get better, but in the meantime, take Dramamine sea sick tablets, the yanks use to take them in w.w. 2, so they have been around for years and stood the test of time.
