Well, with Graham B still away dreaming of fishing and Crazy Peck unable to make it, it was just Skipper Micky C and stand in first mate Si tonked up to the eyeballs with Red bull and chocolate pancakes who departed the marina at 5am sharp for the second successive weekend.

The forecast looked good with flat seas and minimal drift we decided to hit the wrecks. A couple of drops for some mackie proved fruitless on our way so we just powered on towards one of the bigger wrecks. To our dissapointment on arrival at the first wreck someone was already fishing it (how dare they! :-) ) and someone else had netted it! not good, so we moved onto the other wreck.

We hadn't been on long when I pulled out what must be the worlds smallest ling. A couple of scotchies followed along before skipper hit lucky with a half decent ling. Thing seemed a little slow so we moved back to the other wreck which was now free and Mick pulled out a decent sized ling weighing about 5-5.5lb.

With things going quite slowly we decided to power down to rough ground for a go. Plenty of small codling hauled and a few of decent 2-3lb size were kept.

All in all not a bad days fishing in a baking hot son.

Fish seemed to like a bit of rag again today.

What wrecks are you trying. I fancy a shot at some when I go out. I mainly stick to the hard ground but fancy the change sometimes.

    Cheers
