Stingray short sesh 30.4.10

Well went down the boat to sort a couple of things and with the sun out and the light west wind blowing i just had to head out.

Decided to do a few marks close in no more than 2 miles from the piers, not a great deal doing but loads of small sprat on the surface, the water was very very clear but had a "algie" tint to it with the fish finder going made with them shoals of sprats.

Anyway after just shy of 3 hours myself and my dad managed 3 codling but none over 3lb. Tried a couple of small wrecks close in and Norman's fav mark but only lost my 1st,2nd and 3rd set of gear of the year then found a spot with a couple that came out to play.

Nice 3 hours out and tested alot fo new gear the tld15 is a nice smooth reel, so once again it is now back to watching the weather sites 7 days a week

Time to start booking in mid week leave for them extra trips out

There still seems to be a bit of may water around Ritchie. I was hoping the westerlies might sort it by this weekend, but looking at the forecast it dosent matter anyway.

Yer i know, 2 weeks late of starting for me then get the chance and its strong NE winds lol, never mind means i can do jobs in the house so whent he fish do come in i can spend more time chasing them around the rusty metal and rock bits

The weather is looking good on Tuesday so will be heading out on my todd for a sesh unless that ne wind leaves a big lump.

Wind nw and sea slight so off for a sneaky 4 hour trip now before then strong ne winds come again..couple more pan size cod do me today

Well a very short sesh due to the north swell building so never wnet further than 1.5 miles from the pier ends, had planned a trip 5-6 out but not to be.

Anyway ended up with 4 codling all 3-4lb and 3 scotties best about 1lb......few boats out but all getting the roller coaster ride today
