My skipper Ivan and I fished a couple of wrecks this afternoon and the water seems to be clearing nicely. At 170ft the cod were taking unbaited shads but never really going hard at them. We lost lots that pulled at the shad tails without really wanting to nail them. When the drift picked up it was a case of a cod with a shad down its throat or a lost set of gear.
There seemed to be good sized shoals on the wrecks though and all of them cod. If the Westerlies or South Westerlies keep up then the algae should be gone soon I reckon.
