Thanks for the reply Norman, if you've had Slinky Kate for 10 years that speaks volumes for the Ocqueteau. I will be looking for a change shortly and really like the quality of the Ocqueteau and Beneteau boats. It ends tomorrow so i'll keep an eye on it.......

Out at last Norman , I'm glad the fish played ball for you eventually , it really would have been salt in the wounds if they hadn't.
Brill to see you posting catch reports again

It's good to see a few better reports coming from the boats now, well done everyone. I hope you all have a great season, you had better hurry though, it's only seven and a half weeks until the nights start getting darker again

"Fresh cod cooked in a mediterranean stylee tonight - deeeelish"!

How was that done Tony, battered and deep fried in Olive oil instead of vegetable oil mate?

          Jim.

            Well Jim...

I have no doubt the traditionalists will not be impressed but it was done as follows:

2 x Cod fillets seasoned with plenty pepper and salt and knob of butter bunged in hot oven

2 x large cloves garlic and one medium red chilli and also several sundried tomatoes roughly chopped and fried off in olive oil

When garlic/chilli pepper/tomato \\\"cooked\\\" off put 2 large handfuls of fresh spinach in to sweat off - stirring into the oily mix

When sufficiently sweated off layer on Cod and put back in oven to finish cooking Cod fillet

When fully cooked serve with warm cous cous

            Lovely Stuff
            Ooh a new vid!

Nowt wrong with that Tony, sounds very tasty, that's the best about cooking it in the oven, you can add whatever you like and leave out what you don't like or fancy at the time.

The only reason I made the joke was, I once cracked it in Turkey to a group of lady's in our hotel and one of them said something like "I didn't think it was that easy" and she could'nt understand at first why all of her friends were spitting their drinks out and laughing

Incidentally, the fish over there is nice but they don't do a great deal with it. Just baked in the oven with some nice mixed salad, the salad varies from restaurant to restaurant but the best one I had was a tiny place miles from anywhere. A Turkish friend took us a few years ago and it was excellent, four of us, meal, and a couple of drinks, finished off with Turkish tea and it came to about 40 Turkish Lira, at the time a little under £16:00

                Jim.

I just wish I had been able to think up such an eloquent reply as Keith's.

I'm only jealous cos I've tried all sorts of recipes for cod and nowt beats the battered variety.
                    Cheers, Keith.

Don't like deep frying stuff in my kitchen coz it sticks the whole flat out

Haven't done fishcakes for quite a while but have the fish pie pretty much nailed

...as you can poss tell by my slender frame I'm partial to good grub

I'm the opposite Keith, I've never been too keen on batter and neither has SWMBO, that's why I keep trying different recipes in the oven. One of the nicest I ever made was Monkfish with Crab sauce that was soooooo good lol, I will have to see if I can find that recipe again. There isn't much in the way of seafood that I don't like so the world's my Oyster

Tony it does'nt matter where you deep fry mate, the smell takes some getting shot of straight away. I have'nt made fishcakes for a while either, will try some next week I think. As for the slender frame I doubt I will ever get back to having one of them lol.
