Well got wicked jack out for the first trip of the season. As I suspect everybody knows the weather was nothing short of perfect. small tide no wind bright sunshine etc...
We were the first to be launched at 8.30am and the last in at 5.15..
Started at a wreck about a mile off craster, anchored up with bait and lures, my mate pete (Brock) managed a pouting but it was quiet otherwise, them steamed to a wreck a bit further out but nothing doing so headed to the somali wreck about a mile off beadnell and anchored up there where we found a few fish, codling, coalie and a couple of small pouting.
All fish were taken on baited traces with lug and rag, straight lug seemed to find more fish.
Ended up with about 8 fish between us which I didnt think was at all bad considering the time of year, only 2 codling which I got were kept and the rest returned to fight another day.
Fantastic weather, spot on start to the season, fully enjoyed it as did the lads, cant wait for the next trip out......heres a few pics...
