  • Spring run bonanza

Sorry Norman and all others fishing out of (well locked in at the minute ) Royal Quays , but us guys in the other marinas are out in this glorious weather fishing ....... and the spring run is well and truly on ,...... at Cullercoats at least ,......not at Amble yet , we had half a dozen very small codling off the skeres today and they were very difficult to locate. Never mind , I'm going to have another go tomorrow , and this time I'm taking some sun cream instead of (better make that as well as ) extra clothing. It was a glorious flat calm day , probably the flattest I've seen the sea since starting boat fishing , and when the sun came out it was like summer (without the mackie and ling lol)and I got burnt.

Yes , it won't be long now Rich , and the waiting is a bit easier when the sun is out and the days are longer.
We used Rag and squid baited hokkais today Ivan , I think all of the fish came to the rag , I'm on my own tomorrow , I'll be a bit more relaxed and try a flowing trace like you said you caught on , I might just try a bit further south if the sea is as flat as today too.

crikey alan I`ve not used me daylights or walkers inshore yet and they're nearly redundant if the mackerel come in (except for your share that is )
