  • jfk goes to norway

just back from Norway. been a couple of times now and had plenty fish in the late 30s etc.[and over 40 here back in the day] but decided, it would be nice to break or pbs if possible so a plan was hatched to not so much to get loads of, but target bigger fish [skeri cod]
so april was the month and open water chosen.but open water in april is always a gamble with weather.
so after 24 hrs travelling we arrived in soroya.
day 1 out fishing for 6 am and within 1.5 hours I had this

unbelievable a 66 pound cod which stripped 30yards of line as soon as it was hooked, what a fight, and plenty other nice fish around 40lbs were caught.in for a few hours. some dinner
then back out again, tea time.
straight back and into fish. then jimmy hooks something better, stripping line and diving for the bottom a cracking 50.5 pounds cod,
    another pb.
back out for a few hours day 2 but weather deteriorated picked up some nice fish but nothing massive.
then lost a couple of days to weather http://www.nesa.co.uk/forums/images/icons/icon8.gif
got out a few hours on day 5 again fish to 38lbs in lumpy seas.
day 6 determined to make most of it. and what a day still lumpy and only a 3 hour weather window. was it worth it you bet our Christopher got cod of 55lbs 52lbs and jim another over 50 at 54lbs.
a staggering 3 fish over 50lbs in about 2 hours

    cheers allan

Cracking fishing Allan. You'd get less of a workout down at a gym than lifting those monsters from the depths.

Jesus, what a cracking fish, makes my best over there of 38lb look like a tiddler, that's a fish of a lifetime Allan, something to look back and reminisce about, and well done on the other specimen fish.
Excellent result in a short fishing window, love it, well done.
