We decided to leave it till dinner time before we ventured out today, hoping the sea would settle a bit.
Leaving the lock about 12:00 we could see a bit of a swell at the end of the middleton and it got a bit bigger as we passed the heugh with a slight chop on it, but the chop died off after an hour or so of light winds and the swell was manageable also dropping off slightly as the afternoon went on.
On our first stop it was slow going with only a few whiteys here and there, then the anchor started to drag a bit so I hauled it up and we had a move to some other rough ground not to far away.
I sorted the anchor out, as the rebar had straightened out on a couple of sides, with the tide in full flood, so it was bent back into shape and dropped back in at the new spot.
This mark did'nt prove any better for me, but "codfathersfather" had a nice cod weighing in at 6 lb to finish the day off just before high tide, then we headed in about 4:30.
Got back home to give the wife some chocy's and a rose. She was still speaking aswell after fishing on valentines.
