Left Hartlepool this morning at 0730. Stopped on way out for mackerel - plenty of them. Tried a few wrecks but nothing catching. Moved onto hard ground. Several cod - biggest 9.5 lb. Loads of ling - biggest 14 lb. Lots of whities and a few scotchies.
Wind got up PM making us move closer inshore - drifting too fast. Returned to port at 1730.
Excellent value for money and a canny days fishing.
I finished up with two cod - biggest 8 lb and two ling - biggest 6 lb.
Most of the fish were on daylights baited with mackerel strip.
