  • Stingray catchish report 26.7.09

Well it was one of them "should i should i not" days, in the end decided to give it a bash...headed out at 8am and met with big rollers, scraped plan "A " straight away and headed for a few close in wrecks.

After beening beated around the boat by a 20mph SE wind and increasing waves i decided to try some rough ground but that was not before i landed 2 ling both 6lb and about 8 pouting.

Headed close in with the sea building, tried 4 drifts over the rough ground and took 1 whiting and 1 nice pollack.

Started to hea din about 12.30pm, seen a shoal of mackerel on the finder as heading back so stopped and bagged up over 100 (freezer full now rest going back or used on the day).

So at least winter bait sorted, few fillets for tea and next time we have a flat sea i will like it even more.

OW anyone know any Arvor part dealers in the UK? Not after anything major just a door lock as mine has cracked when the wave slammed the door shut.

Essex boatyards are the main dealers, friendly people have been down there picking up boats a few times....it's like a different world to royal quays as it's huge and nowt out of the ordinary seeing multi million pound boats being moved around in the hoists......but the most important thing is they have a fantastic clubhouse on site which serves excellent breakfasts
