had another little trip out today from h'pool with 2 mates , but there was quite a swell running so after an hour on the 3 mile hard ground with only one small codling I moved into shallow water. We ended up with about 7 keepers with my biggest at 6lb and the rest around 2lb mark. not great but better than blanking.

I am going to make a measure board for the boat so that there is no excuse for not knowing . Another little project.

I was chatting to a few of the lads (and lasses) who do this work the other week whilst I was working. They recently recruited a few new officers around our area and they are doing training which involves them getting some hands on experience of this kind.
