Out of bed at 3.30 this morning and leaving the marina lock gates by 5.00 am.
The sea was nice and flat so we thought we'd have a good run about, furthest we went today was a couple of wrecks at 17-18 mile off.
We put some miles in trying a load of wrecks but only managed the odd one or two from the wrecks further out and finally had a good spell on a wreck about 8 mile out when the tide had started to run again after low water.
We ended up with about 15- 20 codling between us mainly around the 4-5 lb mark. Kept 8 for the pot and put the rest back.
Spotted a whale on the way to a mark, about 100ft in front of us, so we stopped off to watch it for a while and it surfaced another few times for us, which was a bonus to the day.
Their was a fair few trawlers out threre today and on two different wrecks a trawler came right down the side of the wreck with his nets down, so we moved on.
A lonely coley.
A double shot for codfathersfather
Tripple shot of dead mans fingery things.
