Headed out yesterday morning at a very sociable hour due to me having to sort the cars brakes the night before and mickey sleeping in! After we dug a few worms at Hauxley it was right turn clive and down to Creswell. The fishing was patchy to say the least with the water still being manky, full of sediment. We tried all over the Southern and Northern skeer and ended up with 8 codlings. I had 3 with mickey taking the honours with 5(I will never hear the end of it, for at least three weeks as I am off to work on weds!).
The day was far from uneventful as we found the breather valve on the petrol tank doesn't work! We were steaming along flat out when she just died! Then it was hanging over the side removing and cleaning spark plugs and checking everything else, it was only then that we saw the petrol tank in use was sucked in even with the breather valve open!
The weather was changeable with bright sunshine changing to getting pelted with hailstones.
The fish came to baited flowing traces with one to a green shad. We felt a bit better when we got into the marina to talk to a few lads who hadn't even managed a fish.
Its off with the missus and the kids in the mobile road block otherwise known as a caravan this weekend so the next time off for me is June, hope the water is clear by then!We have got a few more things to sort out as she is coming out for the ten
hour service then it will be full ahead, hopefully! Give you a tinkle next time back Dave.
Tight lines,
Graham.
