  • Growler's Debut Trip!

    Evening,

Thats me back in and fed after getting back from the Marina. Well we managed to get out but it was snotty to say the least and pretty uncomfortable, on the postive side we managed to get air off the top of a wave and catch a couple of fish as well!

Here's mickey with the first fish aboard growler and me below with the second.

The water was filthy and hopefuly it clears before we are next off on thursday. I lost a wrasse off as it came to the boat and dropped a couple but with the water coilour the way it was I was surprised we got anything. Thursday here we come, a scenic one on the way back into the marina!

    Graham.

Nice to see you up and running Graham , have a look here North-Winds - Live Wind Strength - Newbiggin by the Sea for live windspeeds , there was another one for Druridge bay , but it's off at the moment , it's handy to see what the wind is doing now rather than what the forcasters say it's going to do .

Thanks for the wind info Ray, to be honest if it wasn't the first trip we would probobly have turned back around once we got to hauxley head but we were ultrakeen to say the least, the fishing wes pretty uncomfotable but here's hoping for tomorrow, I am off up to Hauxley to dig bait tonight. It was a flowing baited trace we were using steve, baited with frozen black, blow lugworm and squid variations. Fresh Lug for tomorrow though as long as I dig a few tonight. I think with the forecast it is straight down to creswell tomorrow for the full flood tide.

            Graham.

There's lots of patchy algae around at the moment, so the fishing is sporadic.
Keep posting the pics and reports
