Just a quick report from our couple of hours out early sunday morning.

I had to be back in before dinner so we were up at 3.30 and going throught the lock at about 4.45.

The sea was a little choppier than expected at first with the odd white cap but it soon smoothed out nicely.

My dad "codfathersfather" ruled the way and had a few codling upto about 4lb while I blanked, but managed to catch the wreck just about every drift and loose my gear.

We tried a couple of wrecks and had to head back in about 8.30 to make sure we made it in to the marina before the channel dried out.

Canny morning out and it was a shame to come back in.

We heard on the radio while mooring up that a boat had runaground on the way out of the marina and gotten stuck, he asked the marina to send the rescue boat, but had the reply that they had none.
Think he veered out of the channel, not sure what happened after that as we had to go, maybe he just had to wait a canny while till the tide went right out and back in again till he was floated.

    One for Norman

Thought we'd give it a try, even tho it was only for a couple of hours fishing, never know how long it will be before you can get out next, with work and weather.

Nice one lads, I have those days when all I ever get is snagged, I like to think I'm just slowing the drfit down so the lads can hook up while I get the net
        Cheers, Keith.

Nice one mate (lol like the sunrise) ......
Shame about having to come in early, I do forget how spoiled we are at Royal Quays having 100% access ........
Good to see the fish are about, it`ll not be long now before the big uns arrive chasing the mackerel ........ (I hope)

WELL DONE LADS, i was out on sunday too, over skinny, i too caught all the wrecks and nothing more, didn't get out till around 10ish though, really calm sea, must have been around 20 boats fishing those marks not one had anything to shout about, we done over 40 miles that day and nothing to show for it , but did arrive home with a canny red sun tanned face , better luck next time, as the saying goes.
The only thing i catch is rough ground and wrecks, at least the local angling shops like me!!!!:
