First time out to wet aline today, not the best day weather wise but worth 5hrs at it.

Well not a great deal to report, tried all the normal spots on the hard ground and 3 wrecks...ended up with 5 codling biggest just over 3lb, 2 pouting and 1wrasse about 1lb.

Lost two rigs so its the start of things to come

Lots of boats out but all seemed to be reporting the same.

Nice to see a few out there thou, also had a bit of company on a 4mile wreck...one big fat seal was eyeing us up for 4 drifts.

Thats why i put it in Norman, blame the seal

Hard going but still nice to wet a line, seen a shoal of small herring (3-4") on the surface so not long until the switch is flicked and the boyos show u for the fresh bait

Good Friday looks like the next trip out if the weather holds, hoping that 1 week extra of settled weather brings the cod back on the feed.

Not heard any reports of mackerel in the nets yet (well apart from the odd 1) as soon as them babies land then its good times i hope.

Yer seems like the choppy sea we had last week coloured the water abit and put the fish off the feed.

Have a nice long 5 day weekend next so may have a better report. Still great to get out to sea and wet aline this year.

Good to see you made it out as well Shanka, seen you heading towards the can as i was leaving it.
