  • Finally managed a winter launch 221208

Finally managed a launch today off Blyth.

At short notice and taking the oppotunity during a light westerly wind. My dad and i launched for a couple of hours this afternoon off Blyth.

We paddled the short distance off the middle of the beach to a small wreck. Within minutes he had a 2lb cod which took crab and mussel. (drifting)

I anchored and had to wait a little time before my first which was a nice 4lb cod taken on crab and black lug.

I then spent the next hour hooking into 3 further cod which i lost
first snapped a hook the next 2 came off near the top! Last time i take rubbish old rigs out from the summer. Better planning needed for next trip. Time to make a few ready for the next launch.
