After finding myself with a spare Saturday at short notice I manage to grab a cancellation on Northstar out of Hartlepool.
With the wind forecast to pick up in the afternoon Jim dropped us on some ground a few miles off the piers, within 10 minutes a few fish came aboard, nothing huge but a few sized fish. After plugging away for a couple of hours with similar stamp fish things picked up quality wise with a few cod nudging 10lb (I think the biggest was 9lb 4oz) with 4-5 more in a similar bracket and a good few in the 2-4lb category.
The wind picked up a bit and with a happy group of lads from Blackpool on the boat we headed in early at 2ish.
I ended up with 7 cod, biggest about 7lb and one ling of a similar size. All fish taken on baited daylights.
Thanks to Jim for a great session and also Duncan (lingking) for getting me into the boat at short notice.
