With Shady back in the water and ready for action, we were all keen to do well in the breakaway's boat comp.
We slipped the moorings at 7.45 ready for the shout at 8.00. to head down to the harbour mouth and off to our marks.
We once again had a plan. But the fish didn't figure much in it.
Bert took us off to a distant mark which we thought would produce fish. But to no avail, and to make things
Worse, we had wind over tide.
we then tried the inshore marks using Crusty Keith's
Hand reared peelers, and started picking a few sized fish up.
we dodged round all the inshore marks with peeler, shads
and pirks but only getting a few fish in total.
Fair play to Bert, he worked really hard trying to find the fish. Even being meticulous about his position over the
marks,
we weighed in 4 or 5 fish each so it wasn't a disaster.
Good company, and a few planes buzzing around.
thanks Bert and Keith,
The best laid plans of mice and men.👎
