Today was going to be a pleasure to be at sea regardless of the fish we caught, normal crew met up at 7am and off to our chosen marks, something was going on around Sunderland in the air but it was what was going on in the sea we were after
We made our way out in the sun and the cabin was like a green house.
The first few wrecks where rather poor with only a coupld of cod upto 4lb caught, the enxt couple gave nothing but whiting, scotties and mackerel but i never hang around long if its slow so off we go.
At the furthest wrecks from home and our turning point we hit lucky on two of them, full of cod and the odd ling. We all started picking away with fish 5lb-7lb comming in every drift.
I was using my new rod and reel combo and it got a good work out with a nice fit cod of 15lb 4oz.
We kept hitting fish off the two wrecks and even started chucking a few back along with all the ling that could go back, We ended the day with what we needed and smiling faces.
Cracking day, good crack, sun tanned faces and a host of fish...perfect
