Seems like an age since last report – that’s because it has been! So today was a much needed tonic for both of us
Glorious weather forecast and glorious seas all pointed to it being a good day afloat – and we were not disappointed
Late’ish start of 0530 saw us fishing not long after…for the first time this year we were fishing in our short sleeves from the get go and it wasn’t before even the knobbly knees came out as well …absolutely scorchio day and I am so glad that I adhered to my strict lotion routine…so I can safely say I am sat here without a cherry tomato for a heed!
It was a graft for your fish kind of a day – we had to cover nigh on 30 miles to get a box full but a box full we did – and they were all a great fighting stamp of fish too!
We tried all sorts as well, bait, various lures, pirks etc etc and I know we go on about the home grown lures but I didn’t start catching until I shifted to the Slinky Eels! ( a lovely clear plastic with silver glitter coquet twister)
There’s summink in ‘em I tells ya!
As ever a great day on board Slinky Kate with Norm and a much needed pick me up for all concerned
Oh and we missed ALL the airshow traffic in the lock from the dreaded yachties and the part time boaters (both ways) so a brucey bonus
Few pics of the day:
Back it went (honest! )
Biggest of the day - fought like buggery and I almost called it a double...just an 8lb'er though
Thanks as ever Norman – cheers for reading
Until next time
Cheers
Tony
