Well when i woke up at 3am this morning and looked at the wind detection device in the garden (tree) and seen it bouncing about like someone was shaking it !!,i thought OH NO not another shoit weekend!!!
But as arrangements had been made Keith picked me up at 330am with Kyle and we then picked up Sless and headed down the quay, We seen a fox just as we came onto the quay and it ran when it seen Sless
Got onboard done the checks then headed out to the pier end and it was a little blowy to say the least ,we tryed a few Harbour wks but the drift was 2.5kts at times and it was impossible to hold bottom !,
Tried plan B = move out the estuary area and out the tide to a wk off the big beach and jackpot cod straight away to that poor bait that never catches nowt ,5drifts and 5 fish before it died a death
Plan C moved to wks off Souter and caught a couple more to that shoit bait again !but that again died a death with the tide, after a couple of more cod on various locations we eventually hit good with more great fighting cod being lost then were fetched aboard ,the wind got up even stronger so decided to move closer in then eventually right in to the moorings !
After a bit of a problem with the water pump and wires etc =snip snip bollocks and cross words and another 50 notes down the line we eventually got ashore where John the Knife was waiting to get there jackets off
Great day crew wise
Poor day weather wise
frustrating day boat wise
Champion day pie and pint wise
So all in all 50/50
The catch was 28 cod to 8lb and 2 ling to 6lb also the usual jocks and tigers
