Mark / Lynn congrats on a well deserved day, for the last 3-4 years your visits seamed to have been dogged with bad weather and non favourable conditions, its bloody nice to see a bucket of fish.

As you can tell by your friends' comments on here, it would be fair to say, everyone was wanting to see this report and the rewards of your enduring passion.

Get Lynn a flagon of scrumpy and you get yourself a couple of bottles of buckfast, sit back and start planning the next one................

        well done

        Paul

I can tell you it was one heck of a trip I ended up with a big box of mackerel, about a dozen codling odd pout and whiting and I was only there for an hour, mind Colin couldn't get me a ling, maybe tomorrow, that was while my six year old grandson paid for the fish by helping the lads clean the boat and thanks to Allan and crew for carrying fish to the car. Nice to meet you Mark and Lynn, will have a longer chat next time and pleased you enjoyed the trip.

the farthest we went out was to turn round and moor at the opposite side about 100yards trip. Obvious you don't know I have a partial liking to mackerel and most other species that swin in the sea, but especially mackerel and as I can't fish myself anymore, arthritis and disc problems, so get a helping hand from Allan and the crew of JFK, much easier than catching them yourself always manage to get a few fish when taking photos at open events. Must admit I miss having my boat and able to fish.

Tony we would have loved to meet you too, but hopefully next year. We have decided to take a full 2 weeks next time, as we have loved our time in Whitley Bay.

So depressed to be going home tomorrow!

Its 90miles further but have you never fancied Whitby or Scarb for a week away, i love the odd day down that way and the fishing is just as good as the Tyne...just an idea.

They have a lotto grant to sort whitley bay out so it maybe all change next year.

Richy we spent last year at Whitby. Caravan Park is 50 mins away, so we had to add 2 hours each day to a 10hr trip. Four trips, fishing poor, so we said no to that again!

We love Whitley Bay, plenty of charter choices close at hand, great restaurants in Tynemouh, lovely scenery, so we will be back again next year for sure..............and for the full 2 weeks this time!!
