Ha.....
where yo out that day mate,
was the weather fair when you departed,
did it turn for the worse unexpectedly,
did you stay out or head back like most boats as i understand.
did you choose to stay on the deck to fish or go in the cabin under cover.
What is it exactly your getting at ???

if things had deteriorated and we required assistance folks would be saying should have come in sooner.
worth a mention too there was another well experienced skipper on board plus a well experienced boat ownerAUDENTES FORTUNA JUVAT

I think I'll stop posting catch reports in the future.
All my reports, albeit not that many have always been submitting in very good faith with a true reflection of my day at sea and for information to others.
I read other reports, I don't doubt their contents or question their comments.
Why post a report otherwise.
I've been out on Famous and Ali-Cat over 60 times in the last 3 years and only once have we had to come in, the Skipper decides and has the final say every time as what happened on Marks trip and on Ali-Cat we fished on in safe conditions.
Like Paul stated, my trip was questioned as to how I had a good day, which turned my post on its head, One reply of well done, the rest resulting from how we managed to stay out.
Well! I had a great day and caught well.
I appreciate people have opinions, and will voice them, but I can think of better things to do .John S

I understand it differently:
KAYOS has generated a lot of attention and followers during his fishing holidays in the NE. His first trip with JFK was a blank and everybody here really looked forward to his second trip on Sunday.
Finally his report comes up and all of us were rubbing our eyes in disbelief that something unfortunate has happened yet again to poor Mark...and to make things worse---he was even catching fish.
We appreciated the bad luck and most of us where thinking "Thanks god the bloke is not out with me !! We would sink!" . We banked it as a very strange situation to have in 3 planned trips one blank, one cancellation and one early finish----and that in JULY !!
Into the middle of that comes your report with a glorious catch report from the same harbour, that needed some explanation I felt....and the explanations were poor (like wet OAPs and the shape of the hull). The best explanation came by Mark to me in a pm...
Nobody questioned your report or the decision of the other skipper to go home.
But suddenly the level of aggression went up and people got abusive and defensive, which made me think....ooops I hit a nerve here
Please keep posting, it was a tremendous reportLast edited by Guest; 16-07-2014, 04:15 PM.
