With the skipper away in Scotland, just Kyle, Kenny & myslef this morning.
Headed out about 4.30am, total opposite to last week, i.e. cod close inshore hungry for crab baits. Unfortunately after not catching much on the overrated bait last week we only took a couple of dozen frozen so when it ran out we headed to a couple of 3 mile wrecks. Again unlike last week the fish weren't interested in my pirks or baited flowing traces but Kenny & Kyle were doing really well with baited orange muppets so it wasn't long before I joined in .
We ended up with 28 cod & 3 ling, biggest Kyle's ling of 10.5lbs when weighed ashore.
We lost count of the number of ling just undersize returned, great sign for the future.
Another very enjoyable morning, big thanks to Bert for trusting us with his pride & joy
