Headed out at a humane hour for a change and pointed South just after ten. We tried of the end of Hauxley head as I didn't want to go too far offshore due to the wind but the speed of the drift combined with the amount of pots meant it was impossible to fish there. Moved spot and straight into fish, we caught consistently through until half three when we headed in getting a soaking on the way! Oh for a full cabin that you can stand up in rather than a cuddy! The final tally was about fourty cod, one ling, two scotchies and the first mackeral of the season which I chopped up and caught two cod on! Darren had the biggest cod at eight and a half pound (the best we have had so far this season) and dropped another he said felt better. The fish were all good sized but we did return a fair few that were lip hooked. All methods were working , flowing traces and baited lures. I will post the photo's once I can work out to get them off my phone, the resisdent photographer Mickey was off on a charter boat out of Seahouses.
